Prof. Anthony Wambugu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Development Studies at the University of Nairobi. His research focuses on labour economics, human capital development, poverty, and inequality. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), an MA in Economics from the University of Botswana, and a BEd (Economics and Business Studies) from Kenyatta University.
Prof. Wambugu has received scholarship and fellowship awards from the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC). Over the past two decades, he has authored and co-authored numerous journal articles, book chapters, discussion papers, policy briefs, and consultancy reports. He has also supervised many postgraduate research papers and theses in Economics.
He is a member of the ARUA African Centre of Excellence for Inequality Research (ACEIR).
