PEP proudly celebrates the installation of Prof. Arnault Christian EMINI as Cameroon’s Director General of Economy and Public Investment Planning, recognizing his integrity, expertise, and long-standing contributions to PEP.

The Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) proudly celebrates the official installation of Professor Arnault Christian EMINI, a long-standing PEP Research Fellow Policy Outreach Advisor, and Resource Person with PEP, as Director General of Economy and Public Investment Planning in Cameroon.

The ceremony, held at the Yaoundé Conference Centre and presided over by His Excellency Alamine Ousmane MEYMinister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, was attended by senior government officials, diplomats, academics, and civil society representatives. In his remarks, the Minister highlighted the Directorate’s central role in advancing the National Development Strategy 2020–2030 (SND30) and commended Prof. EMINI’s integrity, expertise, and leadership.

A Pontifical Thanksgiving Mass at Saint-Esprit Parish, Mvolyé, provided a moment of prayer and celebration. The service also acknowledged Prof. EMINI’s recent academic promotion to Maître de Conférences (Associate Professor) at Université Yaoundé II, further affirming his dual commitment to scholarship and public service.

In his response, Prof. EMINI expressed gratitude to God, to President Paul BIYA, Prime Minister Joseph Dion NGUTE, Minister MEY, and the broader community for their trust and support. He pledged to serve with humility, discipline, and a focus on results, ensuring that Cameroon’s public investment strategy delivers inclusive and sustainable growth.

Prof. EMINI’s appointment reflects the growing recognition of Southern researchers as leaders in shaping development policy. Through his long-standing involvement with PEP—as a Research Fellow, Policy Outreach Advisor, and active contributor to capacity-building and knowledge-sharing initiatives—he has consistently bridged the gap between research and policy in Cameroon and across the Global South.

His new role as Director General further underscores PEP’s mission: supporting researchers who go on to influence national strategies, governance, and economic transformation. Prof. EMINI’s trajectory exemplifies how PEP’s investment in Southern expertise contributes directly to stronger institutions and better policy outcomes.
