Independent Sri Lanka-based think tank appoints Dileni Gunewardena as one of its first three non-resident fellows.Verité Research, an independent Sri Lanka-based think tank has appointed PEP expert Professor Dileni Gunewardena as one of its first three non-resident fellows, alongside Professor Mick Moore (Institute of Development Studies) and Professor Shantayanan Devarajan (Georgetown University).
As well as being a Professor of Economics (Chair) at the University of Peradeniya, Dileni supports PEP research teams as a scientific mentor specialising in microeconomic and gender analysis. She is also a PEP Research Fellow.
Her appointment at Verité Research underlines her achievements as an “outstanding academic and professional” while helping to launch their new Fellowship Programme. "I'm honoured to be in such high company as Mick Moore of IDS and Shanta Devarajan, formerly of the World Bank,” said Dileni.
Speaking about her enthusiasm for this appointment, Dileni said: “This fellowship gives me the opportunity to interact with some of the brightest young minds in Sri Lanka while engaging in policy relevant research."
