Discussing findings and insights for concrete actions that can increase the participation and leadership of researchers from the Global South in development research and policy.International development debates focus on countries in the Global South (broadly, Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean) yet the field seems to be dominated by experts from the Global North.
In 2020-21, PEP Research Fellows led a series of six studies investigating the participation of researchers from the Global South in development economics research, policy and consulting activities.
The findings from these studies show how Southern researchers are underrepresented in the development field. The findings also led the Fellows to identify five areas for action to help redress this imbalance.
The authors of these studies discussed their recommendations and justifications, identifying why and how changes need to happen during a free webinar on February 11, 2022.
Simultaneous interpretation (French-English-Spanish).
