Prof. Heinrich Bohlmann is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Pretoria where he specialises in the development and application of dynamic computable general equilibrium models for practical policy research.
His academic and contract work has mainly focused on macroeconomic planning, sectoral impact analysis, energy and environmental policy, and labour market topics.
Prof. Bohlmann also currently serves on the Council of the Economic Society of South Africa, where he was previously elected as President for the 2021-23 term. He has previously completed contract appointments with institutions such as the United Nations Development Programme, World Bank Group, Partnership for Economic Policy, and Gauteng Provincial Government.
Prof. Bohlmann holds a PhD in Economics from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
Prof. Bohlmann is a Resource Person for the Macro-micro Policy Modelling group at the Partnership for Economic Policy, where he was previously Research Director (2021-2026).
