Hamitande Dout is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Lomé, where he has been working since 2023. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Lomé, awarded in 2020. From 2021 to 2022, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières (CANADA). His research primarily focuses on development economics, with particular interests in inequality, human capital, gender, social and financial inclusion, resilience to shocks, entrepreneurship, and forcibly displaced populations. He is the author of several scientific publications in peer-reviewed and CNRS-ranked journals. Over the course of his career, Hamitande has led or participated in numerous research projects in collaboration with both national and international institutions. He has worked with the Business Climate Unit of the Presidency of the Togolese Republic, the Autonomous Center for Studies and Capacity Building for Development (CADERDT), as well as with organizations such as the World Bank, the French Development Agency (AFD), and the Global Development Network (GDN). Hamitande is a member of the Center for Research in Applied Economics and Organizational Management (CREAMO) at the University of Lomé, the Econometric Society, and the Network of Young Economists of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), networks that enrich his scientific work and foster exchange with the international community of economic researchers.
