Habiba Djebbari is Full Professor in Aix-Marseille School of Economics (AMSE) at Aix-Marseille University (France). She is a Fellow of the Econometrics Society since 2020 and a Research fellow at IZA (Institute for the Study of Labor) since 2015. She received her doctoral degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Prior to joining Aix Marseille University, she was an associate professor in the Department of Economics at Laval University (Quebec, Canada). Her research interests include development economics, social networks, education, health and poverty. Her publication record includes Annual Review of Economics (2020), Economic Development and Cultural Change (2020), Journal of Econometrics (2008, 2009), Journal of Applied Econometrics (2012) and Lancet Global Health (2015).
She serves as elected director of the development and political economy division at AMSE and as co-director of the Data Analysis Decision and Economic Evaluation master 2 track of the AMSE graduate school. She also served as president of the Econometrics Society Africa Region Standing Committee in 2018 and director of the Programme Impact Evaluation Initiative for the Partnership for Economic Policy from 2007-2012.
