The Global Development Network (GDN) calls for expressions of interest from multidisciplinary research teams based in research institutions in developing countries, to act as national focal points of the Doing Research program, to implement the Doing Research Assessments (DRA) in their country of operation.
The DRA is a mixed method research module for contextualized comparative enquiry into a national research system, looking at key factors that determine the production, diffusion and update of social science research in a country. The key output of the DRA will be a national report on the national social science research system.
The first research phase is expected to take place from July to December 2018. A first cohort of studies will be implemented in five countries; thus five national research teams will be selected for this phase.
Expressions of interest are welcomed from all developing and transition countries. However, the program currently focuses on ten priority countries: Cote d’Ivoire, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Lebanon, Nigeria, Peru, Senegal, and South Africa.
Applications from country teams are being reviewed on a rolling basis while the call is open. Interested teams are encouraged to apply before June 30, 2018.
