Policy Impact Evaluation Research Initiative

Using experimental research to provide rigorous assessments of the impacts – expected benefits and unintended effects – of policy interventions on a variety of outcomes.

Impact evaluations, whether randomized controlled trials (RCTs) or field experiments, involve the collection of primary data. Results from PEP experimental impact evaluation projects provide scientifically-sound empirical evidence to inform program managers, donors, policymakers and civil society on program effectiveness, budget use and ways to improve the design of future interventions.
