Community-based Monitoring Systems

Developing and implementing the community-based monitoring system (CBMS) methodology to track a variety of welfare indicators at the household level while empowering communities. This program provides disaggregated data for multidimensional poverty analysis and improved policy formulation, program targeting, and impact monitoring.

Local government units in the Philippines have widely adopted the CBMS since it was first developed there as a tool to address existing data gaps and improve local governance.

The CBMS is used to analyze a range of thematic concerns including the SDGs, gender and development, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation.
