I. About CBMS-Uganda

Objectives of the Project

  • Generate baseline data on the household livelihoods and financial inclusion at lower local government level;
  • Generate information to enrich the understanding of the households common methods or options of saving in the financial sector when given a range of options;
  • Improve the dissemination and use of locally generated statistics by the local and national level data users;
  • Prepare a profile on the relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) indicators and
  • Prepare a research paper on household livelihoods and financial inclusion as informed by the CBMS

II. Institutional Partner

Development Research and Training (DRT)

The core work of DRT is to carry out policy-oriented research and analysis focusing on eradication of poverty and more specifically chronic poverty. DRT has since 1997, worked with governments, multilateral organizations and NGOs to undertake specific policy oriented researches and analyses aimed at informing and influencing a wide range of issues including poverty reduction in Uganda and the East African Countries.

Its programmes of work are focused on poverty elimination and we have over the years built particular institutional expertise in research, analysis, interpretation and information dissemination about poverty and more specifically chronic poverty. DRT has also played a leading role in policy and programme influencing especially in the area of social protection.
