Carmen Estrades is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universidad de la República, Uruguay. She holds a PhD in Economics from University of Bordeaux IV (France). She has been working in economic research for more than 16 years, with a focus on international trade, trade policy, and public policy evaluation in developing countries. She has specialized in the application of computable general equilibrium models, both at the national and global level. She has also worked with microsimulation techniques in order to analyze the impact of public policies on income distribution. She has numerous publications her research topics.
