PEP publicizes news and events from the development research community that may be of interest to its members.
The training program aims to:
- Impart knowledge on theory and applications of computable general equilibrium (CGE) models
- Enhance policy research capacity
- Expand network among researchers and institutions for enhanced collaboration
Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in economics or a related subject and a good knowledge of applied micro and macroeconomics. While no previous knowledge of modeling is assumed, applicants must have research experience in international trade, climate, and development issues. Preference will be given to the candidates who have some experience in using quantitative research tools. As this training program is tailored for early career researchers, participants aged 40 years and older are discouraged to apply.
The program will be organized by South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM), Dhaka, the Centre for WTO Studies (CWS), New Delhi, and South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics and Environment (SAWTEE), Kathmandu.
