In 2008, I earned my Ph.D. in Regional Economics from the University of Saskatchewan- Canada. I currently work as an Associate Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics and Financial Sciences, at Palestine Polytechnic University, Hebron, Palestine. Between 2018 and 2020, I worked as a Director of Research at Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute (MAS), Ramallah, Palestine. I am also an affiliate of the "Household in Conflict Network (HiCN)". My research interest and expertise cover regional and development economics, labor economics, the economics of conflict, and policy evaluation. Over the past years, I have published a number of papers in international refereed journals including the Journal of Development Economics, Labour Economics, Journal of Economic Geography, and Journal of Development Studies. I have also worked as a consultant for several local and international institutions, such as the World Bank, ILO, GIZ, ESCWA, and UNICEF.
