Asiya Maskaeva is a development economist with economic modeling experience, including more than 10 years of research work experience in Tanzania. Since 2012, she has been working at the University of Dodoma by a special invitation from the Tanzanian Government. In an effort to facilitate international academic collaborations and enable Tanzanian researchers to become more connected with the global research community, she formed a multidisciplinary research team and has been working on policy-oriented research projects in Tanzania. In addition, she has extensive experience in the communication and dissemination of policy-oriented research outcomes to policymakers, academicians, and other interested parties in Tanzania. Before joining the University of Dodoma, Asiya Maskaeva was an Associate Professor at the Penza State University (Russia) for 12 years, in the Economics Department, leading research work on poverty and income inequality. Asiya holds a Ph.D. in Economics.
