Policy Engagement and Knowledge Translation Specialist

Amos Onyango Okello is the Policy Engagement and Knowledge Translation Specialist at the Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP).
Amos is a governance and development professional with over 20 years of experience spanning public administration, consulting, academia, and non-governmental organizations. His expertise includes public policy formulation, institutional development, and multi-sectoral programmecoordination. He has a strong track record in facilitating collaborative policy dialogue, strengthening institutional capacity, and advancing research-to-policy influence, reflecting a sustained commitment to inclusive and sustainable development.
Prior to joining PEP, Amos served as Managing Consultant and Chief Executive Officer of Africa Optimal Limited, where he led and delivered high-impact consultacy assignments across the public and private sectors. Earlier, as Executive Director of the Save the Future Initiative, he provided strategic leadership for climate action, WASH, and livelihoods programmes targeting vulnerable communities.
Amos has also held senior public sector roles, including Chief Officer for Governance and Administration in the County Government of Siaya. In addition, he has served as a university lecturer and researcher in international relations and diplomacy.
He currently serves as a Council Member of Bomet University, contributing to institutional governance and strategic oversight.
He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from United States University–Africa, a Master of Arts in Conflict, Security and Development from King’s College London (University of London), and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nairobi. Amos is a Fellow of the African Leadership Centre at King’s College London.
