Abdel-Rahmen El Lahga received his doctoral degree in Economics from the University of Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg,France. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Tunis, Tunisia. He is also a Research Associate at the ERF (Economic Research Forum, Cairo). His research field is welfare and family economics and the analysis of inequality and poverty. He is the author of several papers on poverty and equity issues, especially in the Arab World. Abdel-Rahmen has participated in several projects related to poverty and inequality funded by ERF, PEP, WB, and the Dubai Economic Council. He acts as referee for a numbers of research proposals, papers and reports for PEP, IDRC, ERF, AERC (African Economic Research Consortium) and international journals.
