PEP-supported Chinese researchers Dr Kevin Chen and Dr Yumei Zhang were invited to present the findings and research methods from their project on "Growth and Distributive Effects of Public Infrastructure Investments in China", at the 2012 international conference on CGE modeling, entitled "Urbanization and Sustainable Development", held at Beijing University's Guanghua School of Management (Beijing, China), on August 18-19, 2012.

The event, organized by the "Department of Development Strategy and Regional Economy" of the Development Research Center (DRC) of the State Council (P.R.C.), gathered CGE modeling experts from China and several other countries, as well as representatives from more than 30 institutions, such as IFPRI, the World Bank, the FAO, the US Environmental Protection Agency, Harvard University, etc.

The event was a great opportunity for these PEP-supported researchers to gain crucial international exposure and reputation as development experts, as well as to disseminate the main outcomes from their work in this project, funded through a special and very important PEP-AusAID initiative to "Simulate the Distributive Impacts of Specific Growth Strategies" in Asia.
