March 6, 2018 – During a first-round PAGE II study visit to the Université des Antilles with three MPIA teams, Resource Persons Bernard Decaluwé and Sébastien Mathouraparsad prepared and participated in an international workshop on “Gender, labour market and development inequalities”.

The workshop provided an opportunity for the PEP teams to present their work to the University’s Economics and Management Faculty, doctoral students, and staff from the CREDDI (Centre de recherche en economie et en droit du dévéloppement insulaire) research centre. There was great interest in the presentations and the audience provided useful suggestions and feedback.

The Director of CREDDI, Alain Maurin, opened the event and announced a new CREDDI initiative. Prof Decaluwé then spoke about the objectives of PEP and how the network structure works to achieve these goals.

Under the PAGE II initiative, researchers from two teams from Burkina Faso and one team from Senegal visited the Université des Antilles from February 19 to March 9. During this time, they received valuable personalised support and training in CGE modelling techniques.

The international workshop was a joint event supported by Université des Antilles, CREDDI, Université Laval, and PEP.
