December, 2017 - Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) says “PEP has raised research capacity-building to a fine art” in a recent article. Citing PEP’s research support program, the article highlights the successes of PEP initiatives in terms of capacity building for research and knowledge sharing. This capacity building also leads to significant career-promoting events for the majority of PEP researchers, helping to establish them as national experts and promote evidence-based policymaking.

The IDRC article includes a video interview with Dr. Thierry Kame Babilla, who received PEP support to analyze the impact of limited credit access on female entrepreneurship in Cameroon. Last year, Dr. Babilla presented his team’s findings during the 2017 IMF Conference on Gender and Macroeconomics, held in Washington D.C., USA.
