Building on the success of its  “Policy Analysis on Growth and Employment” (PAGE) program, PEP has been granted funding to launch a new program supporting high quality research, capacity development, and policy engagement for growth and employment in developing countries.

National policy conferences

With support from PEP, researchers organize policy conferences in their home countries to directly communicate and discuss their PEP research findings with key policymakers, advisors and other stakeholders.

2017 PEP Annual Conference

The 2017 PEP Annual Conference was held in Nairobi, Kenya from June 8 to 14. The event concluded with high-level policy and research forums.

Through its current initiative to build capacities in “Policy Analysis on Growth and Employment” (PAGE) in developing countries, PEP has supported 65 projects (involving 300 researchers) in 34 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, but also Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

The Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association honoured PEP board member, Professor Nora Lustig, with the title of President Emerita

November 23-24, 2017 | Kenya

Two workshops will be held in Kenya later this month to discuss the findings and policy recommendations of the PRESM project. A knowledge-sharing workshop will be held November 23 in Thika and a scientific workshop will be held November 24 in Nairobi.

PEP is offering three online distance-learning courses in Applied Development Economics, in collaboration with Université Laval in Canada, from January to March, 2018.

Prof Jane Mariara, Executive Director of PEP, made a keynote speech at the ‘Putting Children First’ conference in Ethiopia. The conference theme was identifying solutions for fighting child poverty and inequality in Africa.
