The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) partners with the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) to support scholars in tackling barriers to inclusive development in Asia.
Despite a fast economic growth record in Asia, the benefits have not trickled down to all segments of society. Rigorous, applied, policy-relevant research is needed, and so are young researchers who can study the links between growth and the economic and social policies that could support a more inclusive pattern of development in Asia.
To that effect, the IGIDR is running a capacity building program in inclusive development with a special focus on the labour market and industrial policy. As part of this initiative and with funding from IDRC, a number of scholarships at different academic levels are available to students who are citizens of the following Asian countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
For details of the scholarships, including how to apply, please consult the New funding to support scholars in Asia page of IDRC website.
Application deadline: May 31, 2017
For information or questions about this opportunity, please contact the organizers directly.
