FAQ

FAQ / NEW Adolescent pregnancy initiative CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Questions  /  Answers
  • Is this CFP limited to studies that can produce an impact evaluation study within the timeline established in this CFP?

    • No, we are also hoping to receive proposals for interventions in early stages. For example, if an agreement for a promising intervention with an implementing agency has been reached, we can fund the project, and adjust the expected products, as indicated in the CFP. In this example, we would likely request something like a baseline report, with the specific content to be defined in the starting workshop in early December. In the cases when the baseline has already been applied, and even that the intervention has already been implemented for long enough, so that a follow up survey is ready to be applied, we would likely expect the impact evaluation study as final report.

  • Is there an overhead limit?

    • There is no overhead limit in this call for proposals. Nevertheless, researchers should take into account that a high overhead may limit the economic feasibility of the study with the available budget, an aspect that will likely be considered by the selection committee.

  • The call for proposal also establishes the payment schedule which is appropriate for studies which do not make data collection. However, for studies that make data collection the proposed payment method is a bit tight. Is there a possibility to make adjustments on this schedule?

    • We will consider adjustments in the payment schedule when properly justified.

  • In the call for proposal you give a tentative schedule. However, taking into account the vacation period in many countries (that goes from December to January) it is difficult to start the study in December, in particular for projects where data will be collected. Can we propose a different schedule?

    • The schedule corresponds to the timing currently set for the project as a whole. However, research teams are allowed to present alternative schedules with proper justification. If cases are strong, we will try to accommodate their needs. In that regard, keep in mind that although data collection may be problematic during December, planning for the intervention and data collection efforts may still be feasible and advisable.

  • Is it permitted for one organization to present more than one proposal? If so, can one organization be awarded more than one grant?

    • Yes. It is permitted for one organization to present more than one proposal. Nevertheless, grants will preferably be awarded to proposals coming from different countries, unless the quality of the proposals from all other countries is substantially lower.

  •  Would it be possible to present some pre-proposals and receive feedback on which projects would be of the most interest?

    • No, we have not arranged for such possibility. We suggest each institution to choose the research topic/program (s) that they consider strongest and present full proposals for that (those).

  •  What is the desired length of the project?

    • There is no length requirement for the proposals. Concision will be valued, though.
