The 14th Annual Conference of the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) will be held in Venice, Italy, on June 16-18, 2011. This year’s event is entitled “Governing Global Challenges: Climate Change, Trade, Finance and Development” and the goal is to promote the exchange of ideas among economists conducting quantitative analysis of global economic issues. Particular emphasis will be placed on applied general equilibrium methods, data and application.
PEP lead researchers André Lemelin, Bernard Decaluwé and Véronique Robichaud were invited to give a presentation on “Portfolio Elasticities and the Evolution of Endogenous Current Account Balances in a CGE Model with International Financial Assets” - based on their innovative work in developing a new series of PEP-standard CGE models – during a session entitled “Investment and Knowledge Capital”.
Also, one of PEP-supported researchers, Ricardo Arguello, was invited to present the results of his PEP-funded study on the impacts of the Global Financial Crisis on the Colombian Economy during another session entitled “Economic Development Issues in South America”.
