Call for Papers for the 8th CBMS National Conference has been extended until February 24!

The CBMS Network is inviting local partners from the Philippines to submit proposals for papers for presentation during the 8th CBMS-Philippines National Conference to be held on March 19-21, 2012.


Proposed papers should tackle the use of the community-based monitoring system on any of the following topics:

1. Disaster Risk and Vulnerability Mapping and Assessment
2. Climate Change Adaptation
3. Impact-Monitoring and Evaluation of Poverty Reduction Strategies and Programs
4. Meeting the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
5. Evidence-Based Planning and Budgeting
6. Improving Governance
7. Information Technology Innovations through CBMS
8. Social Protection and Inclusion
9. Women Empowerment
10. Promoting Children's Rights

Requirements for Application
1. Application is open for local government units who have completed at least 1 round of CBMS implementation and have used CBMS for any of the topics listed
2. Proponents are requested to submit a letter of intent together with a 1 page abstract of proposed presentation to the secretariat by February 24, 2012 . Abstract to contain:

  • Complete Title of Presentation
  • Name and Designation of Presentor
  • Main Findings and Recommendations to be Presented


3, Proponent must be able to commit to the deadline for submission of full conference paper to the Secretariat by March 1, 2012.

4. Letter of intent with abstract of presentation can be submitted through e-mail at cbms.network@gmail.com or fax at (632) 5262067.  Documents can also be mailed thru:

Successful proponents would be granted with the following upon submission of the copy full paper for presentation:

  • waived conference registration fee to the 8th CBMS-Philippines National Conference to be held on March 19-21, 2012
  • complimentary copy of conference materials
  • hotel accommodation with breakfast arrangements in the duration of participation in the conference


Papers to be presented will also be featured in forthcoming CBMS Network publications (for local and international dissemination).
