LOUIS-MARIE ASSELIN

Louis-Marie
Asselin has done more than 25 year of statistical analysis applied to
developing countries focussing on various issues such as agricultural
households income, economic impacts of structural adjustment programs and
repercussions of public investments in education. He elaborated management
and evaluation tools and a participative methodology of monitoring and
analysis of poverty. He worked in collaboration with the World Bank, the
International Development Research Centre (IDRC, Ottawa), etc. Trainer of
high level, he also managed various projects in about twenty
African and
Asian countries.

DOROTHÉE BOCCANFUSO
Research professional
After having worked
during a year for the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) as a
consultant providing support to MIMAP's African teams, she reintegrated the
Centre de recherche en économie et finance appliquées (CREFA) at
Université Laval in October 2001 where she previously obtained, in
january 2001, her Ph.D degree in Economics. Her specialization fields are
econometrics and macroeconomics. However, her experience with IDRC in
Senegal, where she actually lives, allowed her to develop new expertises in
poverty analysis and particularly in poverty and inequality profiles,
growth, education, income distribution, etc. Research, formation and
technical support are her principal activities.

ANYCK
DAUPHIN
Research professional
Anyck Dauphin currently works for
the Canadian Centre of International Studies and Cooperation (CECI)
and is a member of the Centre de recherche en économie et finance
appliquées (CRÉFA). She completed her Masters' degree at Concordia
University and is nearing completion of her PHd at Université Laval. Her
fields of specialization are labour, family and development economics. Since
1998, she has provided support to African and Asian research teams
interested in poverty and gender questions, and has developed training
materials concerning the measurement and analysis of poverty. She has also
written articles on intrahousehold resource allocation.

MAKDISSI
Professor
Paul
Makdissi obtained a B.Sc (actuarial studies) in 1989 and a Ph. D.
(economics) in 1999 from Laval University. His thesis subject was on
economics of poverty. After having done post-doctoral research work at the
economic department of Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, he joined the
economic department and the CEREF at Sherbrooke University in 2000. His
research interests are the economics of poverty and inequalities as well
as environmental economics. He presented many of his research in numerous
conferences in Québec, in Canada, in France, in Holland and in Spain. He
also regularly works as a consultant for the World Bank.
